Marina Bay Sands Singapore

Singapore was our second last stop on our Southeast Asia trip last year (2016) and by the end of our trip we were looking forward to luxurious accommodations as we had spent most of our trip staying in Air BnB’s or more affordable accommodations.

When we booked out trip to Singapore I knew I absolutely had to stay at Marina Bay Sands because I had heard it had stunning views from the infinity pool that no other hotel in Singapore could offer (I am a total sucker for infinity pools with views). We booked the Marina Bay Sands hotel during Christmas for S$682 per night and counted the days to our arrival in Singapore.

When we checked into the hotel the guest services agent asked if it was our first time staying at the hotel and of course we said yes (it was our first time). I also fibbed and said we were stopping in Singapore for 2 days only on our way to Bali and wanted to enjoy as much of it as possible. The guest services agent checking us in then proceeded to give us early check in and a room on one of the higher floors (45th floor), which had stunning views as it overlooked The Gardens by the Bay. I’m not sure if everyone is given these small “upgrades” when checking in or if it was because I fibbed but nonetheless I was thrilled.

Hotel Review:

The service was absolutely amazing and consistent from check in, to dropping off and collecting luggage to ordering drinks & lunch by the pool.

The hotel itself has 3 towers and about 45 eateries (restaurant style & fast-food joints) therefore it was a very busy place at all hours of the day. The infinity pool was consistently busy from the time it opened at 6am to closing at 11pm. We were surprised by this fact as we went to the pool at 10pm and it almost seemed busier than when we had gone at 1pm.

We are currently a no-kids couple so we were thankful there were adult friendly sections in the pool area. The lifeguards were also very good at notifying parents when kids crossed over to the adult sections but most importantly this ensured we were able to get comfortable and quiet seating by the pool.

The views from the hotel are absolutely stunning. They are truly better than the views from the Singapore Flyer. Below are pictures of the view from the pool in the afternoon and evening, as well as, from our room.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that enjoys sitting by the pool with sparkling wine (or a book), appreciates outstanding service (who doesn’t ?!?) and stunning views! I truly wish I could afford to stay in luxury hotels on all of my adventures. If your looking for a more quiet and romantic hotel, this may not be the right choice for you.
